Washington Rural Heritage: Lummi Island Resorts

Take a vacation in time! In the early 20th century Lummi Island had a vibrant tourist economy with up to four inclusive resorts that rivaled any of the other San Juan Islands. Isaac Colgan will share photos, stories, and documents from this glorious heyday. His research for the Washington Rural Heritage project will be available online for future public use. Update on the Gerrymandering Case Before the US Supreme Court with Peter Earle

Talks/Lectures

Peter Earle is a Lummi Island resident and an attorney who served as co-lead trial counsel in the first partisan gerrymandering case to prevail at the trial court level. This potential landmark case is now under review by the United States Supreme Court. When Peter outlined the case in a previous program, the audience was held spellbound. Join us for an update from this animated speaker who sheds light on a complicated and urgent issue. Sponsored by Friends of Island Library.
