Balkan Dancing on Thursday Evenings

Dance Club, Folk

Every Thursday evening from 7:15 to 10 PM the Fourth Corner Folk Dancers meet to dance, learn dances and to have fun at the Fairhaven Branch Library, 1117 12th Street, Bellingham. It is a great time to learn the dances we may dance at our First Saturday Dance Parties, to get good exercise and to meet new friends.If you like to move to good music, this is for you! Allied Arts Skill Share Session: Writing Artist Statements with Nancy Canyon

Art Talk

Spend the morning crafting your Artist Statement with well-known Bellingham artist and author, Nancy Canyon. Samples of Artist Statements will provide ideas for writing a unique document that includes quotes and third person exposition detailing oneís unique style, influences, techniques, and purpose. Artist bios will be covered as separate but inclusive documents, and updating the statement and bio for unique art opportunities. Hone a statement through simple exercises, capturing a succinct snapshot of your artistic creations. Bring a notebook and pen and join the fun.

Come and enjoy an evening of Balkan Folk Dancing at the Fairhaven Branch Library, 1117 12th Street, Bellingham, from 7 PM to 9:30 PM. We start the evening with a few easy warm-up dances, proceed to teaching, then to a program of dances and requests. The dances are mostly Bulgarian, Romanian, Macedonian and Romany as well as Greek, Turkish and Israeli. No experience or partner is necessary, and all ages are welcome. A $5 donation is requested. Uncle Bonsai CD Release Concert

Uncle Bonsai returns to Bellingham to celebrate the release of "The Family Feast: The Study of the Human Condition, First World Problems, and the Lasting Physiological and Psychological Effects of Eating Our Young," the group's ninth recording. Now in itís thirty-sixth year, this acoustic folk-pop trio tackles topics such as first-world problems, the creation of the universe, the afterlife, and, of course, holidays with the family.
