Lynden Lions Club Model Train Show

Community Event

The 34th annual Lynden Lions Club Model Train Show features over 50,000 sq. ft. of running model train layouts, exhibits, and vendors. Saturday, Oct. 6, 9 a.m.5 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 7,10 a.m.4 p.m, at the Northwest Washington Fairground, the Henry Jansen Agric. Building, in Lynden. Trains of all gauges for train buffs of all ages. Fun guaranteed. All profits go to Lions Club community projects.

Kids Math and Science Expo

Children, Education, Fair/Festival, Computers/Technology

This county wide event for children K - 6th grade includes activities to inspire children in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Exhibitors include business, nonprofit organizations, schools, and children's clubs. Activities include robotics, rocket ships, microscopes, marine biology, magnetics, Legos construction, chess, and much more. US Astronaut Wendy Lawrence will demonstrate a wind tunnel. Free to children and adults the fair is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and includes a lunch snacks store. Sponsors include WECU, Peoples Bank, Reichardt & Ebe Engineering, Lynden Door, Launching Success Learning Store, Lynden Public Library. Participating children receive free science experiment take home prizes. The Lynden Noon Kiwanis Club is the organizer for this event which brought 1200 attendees last year.

Miles for Memories Glow 5K Walk/Run

Benefit/Fundraiser, For the Family, Running

The Alzheimer Society is excited to bring a new theme and new excitement to our annual 5K. Join us for our Glow in the dark 5K Walk/Run! Bring your glow in the dark gear or load up at the race and be sure to check out each vendor who will have a different fun thing to add to your night (Think glow in the dark face paint!). It's going to be a party with games, food, a beer garden, a raffle, and a ton of fun. Invite your friends and bring your families to raise awareness and funds for the Alzheimer's Society, who offers support groups, education and hope to those with dementia. There will also be awards for: Largest Team, Most Funds Raised, and Best Costume.
