Stand Up Comedy

Paula Poundstone has long been considered one of the most original comedians in the business. Legendary for her razor-sharp wit and wry, intelligent humor, she's a master at spontaneous interaction with a crowd. Poundstone was the first woman ever to host the White House Correspondents' Dinner, she has had numerous HBO specials, starred in her own series on HBO and ABC, and has won an American Comedy Award for Best Female Stand-Up.

Lincoln Theatre 92nd Anniversary Silent Film The Kid

Lincoln Theatre celebrates its 92nd Anniversary with a special screening of Charles Chaplainís 1921 silent film, The Kid, Friday, April 27th at 7:30pm. Charlie Chaplin's first full-length feature is a silent masterpiece about a little tramp who discovers a little orphan and brings him up but is left desolate when the orphanage reclaims him. Chaplin directed, produced and starred in the film, as well as composed the score. This special screening will feature live accompaniment on the 1926 Mighty Wurlitzer Organ. Special film price of thirty-five cents.

This musical intertwines the plots of several Brothers Grimm and Charles Perrault fairy tales, exploring the consequences of the characters' wishes and quests. The musical is tied together by a story involving a childless baker and his wife and their quest to begin a family, their interaction with a witch who has placed a curse on them, and their interaction with other storybook characters during their journey.

Free Showing of "Gender Revolution" at Lincoln Theatre in Mt. Vernon

Film, Gay and Lesbian

PFLAG Skagit and PFLAG Bellingham St./Whatcom are hosting the viewing of National Geographic's "Gender Revolution with Katie Couric." This film is a comprehensive and empathetic introduction to the issues facing transgender people and their families and friends. The film is 1.5 hours and we will have a panel of guests who will tell their stories and answer questions after the film.
