MBT AND THE MCT CAMPERS PRESENTS: The Secret Garden

Come cheer on the Missoula Children's Theatre campers! The children will be showing off their new theatre skills learned during a week at camp while performing The Secret Garden. The Secret Garden, an original Missoula Children’s Theatre rendition, is a joyful retelling of a story of hope and celebration and all good things in life. Mistress Mary Quite Contrary embarks on a journey from India to her uncle’s home in England. Along the way she makes friends with the hilarious Canadian Geese and the colorful Giant Bugs that Rock! In time she learns to appreciate everything around her, including the Moor Animals and the helpful Fireflies. Add to that a good healthy dose of caring, and what happens? Colin, Martha, Archibald – well, the whole household - begin to enjoy the return of health and happiness in a garden carefully tended…until it blossoms once more.

Come cheer on the Missoula Children's Theatre campers! The children will be showing off their new theatre skills learned during a week at camp while performing The Pied Piper. The Pied Piper, an original adaptation of the classic children’s tale. What do you do when your town is overrun by ravenous rats? Sara, an orphan girl, and the other Townspeople of Hamelin Town turn to the Mayor of Hamelin and the Council when their town is threatened. They then call on the Pied Piper to save them from the troublesome creatures. The Mayor's children, staff, and the Cooks also join in the endeavor. Find out what happens when the town chooses not to pay the Piper and the children are led away from the town along with the rats.

The Capitol Steps

No matter who or what is in the headlines, you can bet the Capitol Steps will tackle both sides of the political spectrum as they celebrate the “mock” in democracy. Over 30 years ago, the Capitol Steps began as a group of Senate staffers who set out to satirize the very people and places that employed them. Taken together the performers have worked in a total of 18 Congressional offices and represent 62 years of “Hill” experience. The troupe has performed for the last five presidents, and the only complaints they seem to get are from folks who aren’t in the program.

Portland Cello Project Plays Radiohead, Coltrane & Bach

Formed twelve years ago with nine classically trained cellists, Portland Cello Project has a mission to bring cellos to new places, bring new music to cellos, and bring to audiences all of the sonic ecstasy that happens in the process. Expect this alternative-classical group to perform an evening of powerful arrangements from unexpected artists, culminating in Radiohead pieces that wander from truly epic to breathtakingly intimate.
