Chuckanut Radio Hour 12th Anniversary Show

This month the Chuckanut Radio Hour will celebrate its 12th Anniversary with two stand-out author events of 2018. Local authors John Hoyte and Luci Shaw both graced our Readings Gallery to great acclaim and we are pleased to welcome them to the Heiner as our guest authors. Featuring live music by Threefer, a trio with Chuck Dingée (guitar, vocals, flute), Sharon Mayson (vocals and percussion) and Katie Weed (violin, mandolin, guitar & vocals). This is always a popular show so get your tickets now at Village Books or See for more details.

Chuckanut Radio Hour at WCC's Heiner Theater Featuring Sharma Shields

From the author of Village Books staff favorite, The Sasquatch Hunters’ Almanac, comes a long-awaited new novel. The Cassandra follows a woman who goes to work in a top secret research facility during WWII, only to be tormented by visions of what the mission will mean for humankind. Inspired by the classic Greek myth, this 20th century reimagining of Cassandra's story is based on a real WWII compound that the author researched meticulously. Sharma Shields holds an MFA from the University of Montana. She is the author of the short story collection Favorite Monster, winner of the 2011 Autumn House Fiction Prize, and the novel The Sasquatch Hunters’ Almanac, winner of the Washington State Book Award. Tickets for the Chuckanut Radio Hour are $5 and are available at Village Books and See for more details.
