Support Pinky Vargas for 42 Leg District

Politics, Benefit/Fundraiser, For the Family, Community Event

The Sister District Whatcom, a local chapter of The Sister District Project, a national grassroots political organization that connects the resources of progressive legislative districts to state senate races to support progressive Democratic candidates. This event is a fundraiser for The Sister District Project, which is supporting the campaign of Pinky Vargas, Washington State Senate Democratic candidate, who is running against Doug Ericksen, the Republican incumbent in the 42nd Legislative District. Pinky is currently on the Bellingham City Council. Come meet Pinky and help change the political climate in this legislative district and in Washington state. Since winning a majority in the WA State Senate, bills that had been UNABLE to progress, such as fully funding education, new gun regulations, and legislation to expand voting rights, are now passing through the Senate. However, at the moment, Democrats hold a majority by only one. This fundraiser is aimed at increasing the Democratic majority by supporting the Pinky Vargas campaign. More info on the majority in the state Senate: https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/politics/emboldened-by-new-majority-washington-senate-democrats-set-fast-legislative-pace/. Contributions of big and small welcome. Food and beverages available for purchase at the event. If you're unable to attend, contributions to The Sister District Project can be made online: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/sdp_inc?refcode=webpage.
