Kids Camp: Totes Awesome

Summer Camp, Children

Upcycle your own unique tote bag and learn to sew in one week! We’ll begin by exploring creative ideas and inspirations, drawing out designs for a bag, and having fun collecting and drawing inspiration from found materials. Next, we will work on creating patterns and learning about sewing basics and safety tips. For the remainder of camp we will be working on our upcycle designs and be ready to show them off on the last day.

Kids Camp: Creature Features

Summer Camp, Children

Get ready for a wild time in this brand new camp full of squishy beasts and stitched bugs. We’ll start with drawing and crafting small upcycled projects to build the skills for making our own stuffies later in the week. Along the way you’ll learn to sew a button, embroider dots and lines, print your own fabric and sew by hand. We’ll study our favorite animals to figure out what makes them so special. Then play with color and texture, size and shape to make totally unique plush pals. Bring a sack lunch and your creative curious mind.

Teen Upcycle Fashion Camp

Spend the week learning the entire process of upcycle fashion design, from envisioning, to selecting materials, to putting it all together and showing it off! Leave with your fully designed garment and new sewing skills! Gather inspiration from nature, magazines, and the materials themselves, then talk about where ideas come from and what we want to express. Spend time drawing, playing with and choosing the materials, then start on a sewing project to get familiar with sewing machines and hand sewing. Spend the rest of the time bringing your upcycle designs to life! Everyone will create their own upcycled garment which is an expression of themselves, and show it off to their friends and families on the last day!
