Applied Quality Management Fundamentals

Earning the ASQ Certified Six Sigma Yellow Belt demonstrates your understanding of the fundamental knowledge, principles, terminology, and processes of effective quality management to consistently deliver high quality products and services. In this course, you'll acquire a practical and robust quality management toolkit that includes: process improvement techniques; mapping, measuring, and quantifying process performance; problem-solving techniques; variance analysis; root cause analysis; and identifying and eliminating errors or defects. Through this Lean Six Sigma training, you'll be equipped to apply your knowledge and skills to daily tasks that result in enhanced quality, decreased waste, and better cycle times. Holiday Ornaments in Clay

Break out your creativity and have fun making a set of 4-6 holiday ornaments in this ceramic workshop. Learn how to use molds to make shapes such as stars and hearts, or learn how to create your own shape out of clay, applying underglaze to add a dash of color and shine. Your ornaments will be stained and fired in the kiln, ready for pickup November 26--just in time for the winter holidays and decorations or handmade gifts. Please bring sketch paper, pencil, eraser, and a ruler to class. All other materials included. Ages 10 and up are welcome to register with an adult.

Anti-Inflammatory Feast

Your camera can be used as a tool to produce a variety of effects with motion and movement, from high-speed captures like a bursting balloon or a splash of water, to things on the move such as sports and birds in flight. Join local photographer Carol Sheppard for this advanced photography course, and learn the skills needed to stop time with your camera lens, capture images of fast moving objects, and create incredible works of photographic art. Bring a camera capable of manual settings, and a tripod (if you have one); cable release and flash are optional, but recommended. Prerequisite: thorough knowledge of your camera's operation.
