Auto Show, For the Family

More than 200 classic and modified cars and trucks are expected June 16 for the fifth-annual Father’s Day Car Show at Whatcom County’s Bellewood Acres. Presented from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. by Gear Heads of Whatcom County, admission is free for spectators. Twenty-six trophies will be awarded and drawings will be conducted for more than $3,000 in prizes. Live music will be presented by a local favorite, Prozac Mountain Boys, and breakfast and a barbecue lunch will be offered. Car and truck registration costs $15 before the show and $20 on show day. Net proceeds will support Humane Society of Whatcom County, Bellingham Food Bank, Vietnam Veterans Organization and Alzheimer’s Association of Washington. Adults are invited to sample farm-made spirits from the on-site distillery. Bellewood Acres includes 62 acres with apple and pear orchards and a 14,000-square-foot building containing a market and gift shop, café, bakery and distillery. The property is located at 6140 Guide Meridian, about halfway between Bellingham and Lynden. Bellewood Acres is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
