Jewelry/Gems

This beginning jewelry series will build upon basic metalsmithing and jewelry making skills; focusing on techniques that do not involve a torch and several that require a torch for annealing metal. It is a perfect add-on class for students who have taken Beginning Jewelry I. This class series focuses on a variety of technical skills and how to apply those skills to both jewelry and sculpture. Students will leave each class with a series of finished samples as well as a deeper understanding of basic jewelry practices. Students can purchase the full series or individual classes. The full series includes these individual classes: Class 1: Ear Wires, Clasps, Jump Rings & Chains; Class 2: Texture & Patina; Class 3: Forging, Forming & Drawing Down Wire; and Class 4: Rivets. Instructor: Leah Meleski. Prerequisites: Beginning Jewelry Metalsmithing Class or equivalent and are familiar with the jewelry studio.
