Audubon: Wildlife Rehabilitation

Talks/Lectures

The purpose of wildlife rehabilitation is to treat sick, injured, and orphaned wildlife with the goal of releasing them back into the wild. The Whatcom Humane Society Wildlife Rehabilitation Center is the primary facility of Whatcom County, but often receive animals from all over the state. Housing, diet, husbandry, enrichment and medical care tailored to each species maximizes their chances of release. Makenna Johansen and Alysha Evans will walk us through the rehabilitation process from intake to release and will dive into the details of some of the cases they receive. Co-presented by the North Cascades Audubon Society.
