WWU Symphony Orchestra

Classical, Orchestral

Join the Western Symphony Orchestra and conductor Ryan Dudenbostel as they opens their 2018-2019 season with masterworks by Tchaikovsky, Britten, and Shostakovich. Graduate student conductor Mika Armaly leads the orchestra in two selections from Tchaikovsky’s iconic opera Eugene Onegin, and faculty members Eric Rieger and Gustavo Camacho join for the ravishing Serenade for Tenor, Horn, and Strings by Benjamin Britten. By turns brooding and manic, Dmitri Shostakovich’s 1939 Symphony No. 6 in B minor concludes the program. Program: P. I. Tchaikovsky: Waltz and Grand Polonaise from Eugene Onegin. Mika Armaly, conductor. Benjamin Britten: Serenade for Tenor, Horn, and Strings. Eric Rieger, tenor. Gustavo Camacho, horn. Dmitri Shostakovich: Symphony No. 6 in B minor, Op. 54.
