Examining Bias in Society (and What We Can Do About It)

Class/Workshop

Join Kimberly Harris, M.Ed., to learn about racial bias through the lens of a 2016 police shooting of an unarmed African-American man and the recent interpersonal bias incidences at Yale, Starbucks, and Fresh Kitchen. Understanding what racial bias is and how it works through current events will allow us to examine our own personal biases, learn de-biasing tools and resources for further growth and exploration, and be advocates of diversity and inclusion. Kimberly has a background in education and social justice activism, and is known for her ability to cultivate thoughtful conversation and offer practical insights.
