Travelogue: Copenhagen, Malmo, and Amsterdam: Lessons in Urban Rejuvenation and Connectivity

Nicole Oliver was part of a group of nine City and Port of Bellingham employees who traveled to Copenhagen, Denmark for a week-long class to learn about urban redevelopment, including urban parks and trails. The trip was funded with a grant from the ScanDesign Foundation, a non-profit organization with a mission of fostering US/Scandinavian relationships. They send people to Denmark to learn about the country and share what they learn upon returning home. Denmark is considered to have the gold standard of bike infrastructure with 30 percent of residents biking to work. Learn more about the exchange. Co-presented with Bellingham Parks and Recreation.
