Open House

Hattie Strother Chapter members invite you to this Open House event. A sewing room was added thanks to generous donations of people from Bellingham. One room is dedicated to Hattie who lived and worked in this home from 1889 to 1936 as a Seamstress. Her father, Robert F. Strother, a tailor from Tennessee purchased the home in 1889 and his two daughters Hattie and Willie and Mary Smith, a domestic who cared for his family, joined him later. On display is a small clothing collection from this time period, a collection of irons, sewing tools and a two-spool treadle sewing machine. Chapter members look forward to meeting you and sharing their joy of being part of The International Quester organization. We enjoy volunteering as docents at this house museum. We meet in membersí homes on the third Thursday from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, September to April. For more information, either call 360-733-5873 or go on line at or
