Marc Berger is a composer, pianist, and theorist born in Chicago. As a composer, Berger wrote orchestral and chamber music in contemporary serial styles to support his academic goals, then returned to writing in traditional tonal style. His major work is an opera set to music Franz Kafka’s stage play, Der Gruftwachter. Berger has also recorded a collection of original folk, protest and satirical songs.
