The Mt. Baker Community Coalition and the South Fork Valley Community Association are honored to co-host an important community discussion… “Substance Abuse in the Foothills: Fact vs. Fiction” 6 -8 pm Thursday, March 15, 2018, in the Van Zandt Community Hall (4106 Valley Highway—Highway 9—Deming, WA 98244). All are welcome to attend this town hall style gathering, featuring opening remarks by • Whatcom County Sheriff Bill Elfo • Mt. Baker School District Superintendent Charlie Burleigh • Whatcom County Health Dept. Program Specialist Joe Fuller • Whatcom County Fire District 14 Chief Jerry DeBruin • Mt. Baker Community Coalition Coordinator Wa’Lynn Sheridan Comments and questions from community members will be requested, and teens are especially encouraged to attend. Families with young children are welcome (a supervised creative space will be supplied for youngsters). Dinner, beverages, and dessert will be provided.
