Women of the Andes: Weavers and Farmers Photography by Jim Wiggins

Art Show, Photography

Bellingham Robeks is pleased to showcase Jim Wiggins’s photos from a portion of his trip with Abbe to the Amazon, Sacred Valley, and the Galapagos. On display for the next 4 months, is a microcosmic view into women’s life in the high Andes, at elevation 10,000 to 12,000 feet. From a day trip in Urubamba, past Moray (an Incan site), to a small farming community, we had time to talk with women and children about their life. We also spent time at a weavers’ cooperative to learn about dying, weaving, and clothing of these peoples.
