WSO: Carmina Burana

Carmina Burana is a scenic cantata composed by Carl Orff in 1935 and 1936, based on 24 poems from the medieval collection “Carmina Burana,” covering themes as familiar now as then: the fickleness of fate, the fleeting nature of life, and the joy of Spring’s arrival. We will have a huge orchestra, two pianos and celeste, large percussion section, three outstanding soloists, and over 150 singers from Western Washington University.
