BMC Night Beat presents violinist Edwin Huizinga

Violinist Edwin Huizinga performs some of the most dramatic pieces ever composed for violin. On the program are Bach's Chaconne, Biber's Passacaglia, and works by Ysaye and Paganini. Huizinga’s wide-ranging experience performing Celtic, fiddle, rock, improv, classical and other music for violin enriches his playing on the gut-strung Baroque violin. He has played with most of the well-known Baroque ensembles, and was a co-founder of ACRONYM, the young Baroque string band dedicated to "giving modern premieres of the wild instrumental music of the seventeenth century." He appears annually with the Carmel Bach Festival, and at Versailles, the fabulous palace of Louis XIV. Tickets for Night Beat are available at Village Books, Food Co-op locations, online and at the door.
