Travelogue: Bhutan


Experience an armchair journey with local travelers, Istvan Hernadi and Diane Groody, as they present a slide presentation titled "Life in Bhutan - Four Years in the Himalayas." Istvan Hernadi is a retired IT engineer from Canada who spent 4 years as a college professor in Bhutan, while taking time to explore the Himalayas and write stories, work on photography and hike numerous trails to peaks and remote monasteries. He also lived at some monasteries teaching English lessons to monks. Diane Groody is a retired geologist and clinical social worker, who taught 2 semesters at the Royal University of Bhutan and transferred to work at the psychiatric ward of the national hospital in Thimphu. She was involved in the daily life of students and ordinary Bhutanese as a counselor for more than a year.
