This course provides both an intellectual and physical component with an emphasis on strategy, intelligence, awareness, and avoidance. Learn observation skills to recognize early warning signs of danger, ways to use your voice and body language to prevent harm, simple and effective physical skills to disable an attacker long enough to escape, and more. Instructor Robert Ellsworth, corrections deputy for the Whatcom County Sheriff's Office, has been teaching self-defense for over 20 years. Bring a sack lunch and wear comfortable clothes. Thirty-minute lunch break provided.
